TRANSCRIPT
In this lesson, we will go over the 5 basic knots for successful fly fishing.
ARBOR KNOT
This is the knot that you will use to tie the backing to your reel.
Now that we have the backing on to our reel we will attach the fly line to the backing using a blood knot.
Because most fly lines and leaders come with Perfection Loops I will show you how to connect the two. If your perfection loop breaks on one end you can also use the blood knot to connect these two sections.
Next we will connect the tippet to the leader using the DOUBLE SURGEONS KNOT. Now that our leader is connected to our fly line we will connect our flies using one of two knots.
1. THE IMPROVED CLINCH KNOT
2. NON-SLIP LOOP KNOT
When we go into specifics in the intermediate lessons on fly rig setups we will be using on of these two knots.
Lets start with the Improved Clinch Knot
And last but not least the
NON-SLIP LOOP KNOT
