The Peeper Popper was not originally designed to catch bass, actually being designed for much smaller fish. Nonetheless, many people have found success with this when they are out angling for bass, particularly when it comes to smallmouth bass, so it's worth a shot.

CAN YOU CATCH BASS FLY FISHING?

Fly fishing for bass is rising in popularity even though anglers have been doing it for years. It is one of the more challenging forms of fly fishing to master. However, that is not to say that it's impossible.

There are several ways you can catch bass fly fishing. You can fly fish for them on the topwater using stimulators and poppers. And you can use streamer patterns underneath the water to entice them.

DO TROUT FLIES WORK FOR BASS?

Trout flies are a typical fly that is used in many kinds of fly fishing, so it is natural to wonder whether it is used for bass as effectively as with other types of fish.

As a whole you will probably find that trout flies are perfectly acceptable to use for catching bass, but that is not to say that they are necessarily the best.

WHAT SIZE FLIES FOR BASS FISHING?

The answer to this will largely depend on whether you are fishing smallmouth or largemouth bass, so that is a significant consideration to think about first.

As a general rule, you will probably have more luck with bass if you use flies that are somewhat on the larger side, especially compared to catching other types of fish such as trout. That being said, it is always worth exploring and trying out different methods yourself to see what works best.
